A Day At The MFA

cow art

The family spent a day at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston last week, and since it was school vacation the kids were free! I was admitted for free also with my student id. The MFA is huge, overwhelming, and a must see. There is so much to see it is better done over multiple visits, if possible. After awhile my head was on overload. The kids loved the ancient Egyptian pieces. I am always thrilled to see the size and texture of pieces I’ve seen in books in real life. The mega-famous European masters were incredible to see in real life. The new contemporary wing was not opened yet. I would have loved to have seen that. I love the sculpture (above) by Alexander Calder.  The simple lines make such a bold statement.
